Elevator Renovation, Refurbishment & Modernization
Since that elevator was installed you've replaced a TV, a car and a few phones.
Only it stayed exactly the same.
An elevator 20 years old or more does not have to look, run or feel like one. At Korsia Elevators we know how to bring it back to riding smoothly, stopping precisely, looking like new — and most importantly, breaking down far less. All without a long shutdown, and at a much lower cost than full replacement.

Does your elevator match any of these? If so, it is probably time…
Does this cabin look familiar?
Then it is probably time to sit down with us and talk about a refurbishment.
The floor is worn and stained. The walls are scratched. A crack or two down the mirror. The numbers have rubbed off the buttons. The fan stopped working years ago. And the smell inside… you just want the ride to be over. It does not have to be this way.
The elevator cabin is the first room people see in your building, and as such it is what leaves the first impression — on guests, on prospective tenants or buyers, and on everyone who walks into your building.
And the good news: You do not necessarily need a new elevator. You need to know what to take out, and what to put in its place.

Four things that turn an old elevator into a new one
An elevator refurbishment does not have to be one huge all-inclusive project. Each of the four areas stands on its own, and they can all work together. What is right for your building depends on the elevator's condition and on what matters to you.
The heart of the elevator
Motor, cables, sheaves and guide rails. Heavy equipment responsible for carrying the load of your cabin every day, 365 days a year. These are usually the parts behind noise, vibration and a ride that feels like a rollercoaster. Replacing them restores a quiet, reliable ride and significantly reduces service call-outs.

The "brain" of the elevator
The control panel is what decides where the elevator goes, when it stops and how it responds. Older panels are built on decades-old technology, and a large share of faults and sudden stops come from exactly there. A new controller is smarter, more precise, diagnoses faults on its own, is easier to service and consumes less electricity.

Like riding on a cloud…
This is where the components that change the feel itself come in. An encoder knows at every moment exactly where the cabin is, and together with a frequency drive it produces gradual acceleration and deceleration and a precise stop level with the floor. The result: a soft ride, without the jolt at the start and the end — and without that little step at the threshold that makes people trip.

What you see every day
Floor, walls, ceiling and lighting, mirror, handrail, buttons and fan — and even the door frames and landing doors on every floor. You choose it all from a catalogue and match it to the look of the building, so the elevator becomes a modern design feature instead of something that looks forgotten in time.

A renovation package built around you
A refurbished elevator is not only a daily convenience — it upgrades the look of the whole building and directly affects the value of the apartments in it.
The range here is very wide — from painting the door frames alone all the way to a full replacement of motor, controls and doors. We offer the entire range, and that is exactly what lets us put together a renovation package tailored specifically to your building.
We are here to listen — we come, inspect the elevator in depth, hear what matters to you, and put together a plan that fits the elevator's condition and the building's budget. Sometimes it is a comprehensive project, and quite often it is far less than you feared.
In professional terms this process is called modernization.
How long will the building be without an elevator?
It is the most common objection, and understandably so. The honest answer is that it depends on the scope of work — but the range is far shorter than most people imagine.
We give you an estimated timeline for every stage of the work up front, keep residents informed, and keep disruption to a minimum.
