Installation, done right

It's a little more complicated than assembling an IKEA wardrobe

But don't worry, we have the assembly manual. You've already planned, chosen and bought or sold the elevator, nice work. Now we come into the picture: what we do, and do brilliantly, is install your elevator properly and fast. We're the ones who know how to make sure your elevator gets its final approval before the deadline.

We install for two kinds of clients: elevator companies that have sold an elevator and need a professional crew to install it, and end customers, for example a building that has gone through TAMA 38 and bought an elevator and is now looking for someone to install it properly. Either way, you get an experienced crew that knows the job.

Passenger elevators Electric and hydraulic, for homes, offices and industry.
Freight elevators In every size and every load capacity.
Home elevators A compact solution for a private house or duplex.
Parking systems Heavy, complex installations that require specialist knowledge.
What do you need to take into account?

Installing an elevator in an existing building: what you need to know

Installing a new elevator in an existing building starts with the residents' consent. Under section 59ו of the Land Law, a two-thirds majority of the building's apartment owners is required, subject to two conditions: that a building permit can be obtained for the installation, and that the elevator will not substantially harm other apartments, the common property or the appearance of the building. An owner who believes they have been harmed may also object and apply to the Supervisor of Land Registration.

As for the costs, the apartment owners who decided on the installation are the ones who bear it, apart from the ground-floor residents, who are exempt, and the split is made according to the relative floor area of the apartments. The cost of ongoing maintenance and operation, on the other hand, is shared by all the apartment owners in the building.

All of that part, the decision, the permit and the planning, is led by the elevator company that sold you the elevator or by the project manager. We come into the picture the moment the elevator arrives at the entrance to the building and is waiting to start work.

How it works

From the elevator on site to the first ride

Site survey and coordination We come to the building, inspect the shaft and the site conditions, and coordinate the installation with everyone involved.
Installation We assemble the elevator and all its components, on a clear schedule and with clean workmanship, with as little disruption as possible.
Inspection guaranteed We stand behind the installation until the elevator passes and receives approval from the Ministry of Labour and the Standards Institution of Israel.
How much does installation cost?

How much does it cost to install an elevator?

It depends on a lot of factors, of course, and the range is wide and varies. The type of elevator (electric, hydraulic, freight and more), the manufacturer, the height of the building and the complexity of the installation are only some of the factors taken into account when a quote is prepared. Prices run from tens of thousands of shekels to hundreds of thousands.

Shall we let you in on a secret?

It is in our interest that your elevator works

We'll be candid: the better an elevator is installed and maintained, the fewer breakdowns there are, the fewer rescue call-outs in the middle of the night, and the less headache. So we have every interest in installing it right the first time.

And if you're the building or the client managing the elevator yourselves, the natural next step after installation is a service and maintenance contract with us. We already know the elevator, it is legally required to have ongoing service anyway, and this way you have one address for everything. Don't make it complicated, talk to us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we get asked a lot about elevator installation

Who handles the planning, the permits and the approvals?

That part is led by the elevator company that sold the elevator, or by the project manager (in a TAMA 38 project, for example). Korsia is the installation contractor: we come in at the stage where the elevator needs to be assembled correctly and safely. For reference, in an existing building the law requires a two-thirds majority of the apartment owners, a building permit, and that the elevator not substantially harm the common property or the appearance of the building.

How much does it cost to install an elevator?

Installation prices range from a few tens of thousands up to hundreds of thousands of shekels. The factors that affect the price are: the manufacturer, the type of elevator, the height of the building, the permitted load, the complexity of the project and more. We can only give you an exact price after a careful review of the elevator and the site.

Which elevators do you install?

Just about anything that moves vertically: electric and hydraulic passenger elevators, freight elevators in every size, private home elevators, and heavy, complex parking systems too, at any height and any maximum permitted load.

Are you responsible for the installation until the elevator passes inspection?

Yes. We stand behind the installation and stay with you until the elevator passes and receives approval from the Ministry of Labour and the Standards Institution of Israel. A written warranty, not just words.

Do you work as a subcontractor for elevator companies?

Absolutely, it's a central part of what we do. We provide professional installation crews as a subcontractor to companies that sell elevators, with clean execution and reliable timelines, while fully preserving your relationship with the client.
